Founded in 1932 on a single conviction: that natural gemstones should be within reach of anyone who values them, and that every purchase should rest on documented fact, not a dealer's word.
From a single passion for stones
From one person's fascination with coloured stone, Safir became a complete gem house, with its own mines, its own lapidary, its own laboratory, and its own craftsmen setting the jewellery that emerges from all of it.
The founding insight has not changed: most of what people believed about gemstones rested on incomplete information, and most of the problems in the gem trade (fraud, misrepresentation, inflated pricing) came from opacity. Safir was built to be the opposite: transparent, documented, expert.
Nine decades on, that commitment has grown into an ecosystem of expertise rare in any market, and rarer still in Malaysia.

With sourcing and mining interests across Sri Lanka, Madagascar and other significant gem-producing regions, we bring ethically sourced, certified gemstones to our clients with full transparency about origin and treatment.
Direct sourcing means we know exactly where our stones come from. It also means better stones at fairer prices, because we have removed the layers of intermediaries that inflate cost without adding value.
